Updates

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 9, 2011, 5:16 PM

Hey everyone. I know it's been a long time since I've added any artwork or written a new journal, and I apologize for that. I also know that tons of people have faved my artwork, and it's taken me forever to get back to you guys to thank you. Sorry for that! It'll get done, I promise! orz

As far as the artwork, I have almost..zero free time in my current lifestyle. I need to figure that out. I might have time to work on something for maybe five minutes a night during the week. I may start posting pictures of the cakes I do at work though, or something to that effect, so that at least I'm updating regularly. I'm probably going to go through my artwork and clean it out a bit too. Get rid of old or unfinished pictures.

I'm going to be reconstructing my portfolio from the bottom up, in hopes of getting a better job soon, that would give me a little more free time, so you may be seeing the fruits of that labor too. As far as anything else you might want to see from me, just ask. It'd be nice motivation to know that someone would like to see something in particular from me.

The old info is still the same. Yes, I do commissions on a case by case basis. The price will also vary accordingly. Drawing, Painting, as well as Cosplay costume accessories are also an option for that. Just send me a note.

***On a personal aside. A certain someone who I used to call friend, has been visiting my deviant art home page as well as :iconlilmadhatterlu: 's pages a few times. I wonder if she knows we can see when she visits our pages, via the 'visitor's' widget on the home page. It makes me wonder..is this person trying to say something to one of us, does she miss us? Is she sorry? Or does she just enjoy pissing us off by showing us her name occasionally... But if that were the case, she's doing a very poor job of keeping us blocked out of her life, as she so adamantly claimed she wanted to do, when she blocked us on all online websites and wasn't even going to give us a phonecall to let us know. If that person happens to visit this page and see the journal, please stop visiting my page if you insist on keeping us a separate part of your life. Your name only brings pain. Also, please remove all the pictures you have involving my and :iconlilmadhatterlu: 's intellectual property from your deviant page before we report you for theft.  Hmm..maybe I should just remove the visitor's widget and be done with it.****

You can ignore that if you have no idea what's going on.

Anyway! Thank you for visiting my page and looking at my art!

Cheers.

Movie Review Numbah 2

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 5, 2010, 8:42 PM

Alice in wonderland
This movie sucked as hard as I thought it would. Take it back, HARDER than I thought it would. Ironically, the only character I liked was the hatter, even though I've been bashing him from the first time I saw his bozo the clown hair. However accepting his appearance, he was well acted. All of the other actors annoyed the crap out of me. There was zero character development, alice was a snotty bitch who was naked every two seconds and wearing fashion show reject dresses, the ending was retarded, the cg characters were dismissible based on the level of detail alone, which was that of an early pixar film, clashing horribly with the well rendered backgrounds. The hare was on crack and dismissed by me almost at once, the dormouse was annoying, and there was an unhealthy eyeball poking fetish theme throughout the film. I also think there was an unhealthy amount of time spent on the queen's large head and her fascination with abnormally huge body appendages. At first, I thought the white queen was only pretending to be how she was portraying the character, but as the film developed I realized that no, there were just gaping holes in her performance. The plot was also entirely predictable, and not just because Alice has been done then thousand times before. I guessed all of the plot points before they happened, and was several times on the verge of falling asleep in the movie theater. My sister, who saw the film with me agrees on all accounts. All in all, a complete waste of my time and money. But at least now I can validate my dislike of the film based on fact. As an avid alice in wonderland fan, I can say this was the worst interpretation I have seen. Last but not lease, FRANK BEDDOR GET YOUR MONEY BACK!! This movie tried so hard to be The Looking Glass Wars. But it failed. It failed hard. In more ways than one. I give it 1/2 a star.

Shutter Island
I have heard mixed reviews on this movie, and I think I will find it hard to critique it myself, since I have a few conflicting interests. I thought that overall the movie was well acted, and that it had an interesting plot, including a very unexpected and slightly frustrating, but still good ending. I thought it took a little while to get into, but this could be entirely because for the first half of the movie I was distracted because I was trying to see who Jackie Earle Hayley was playing. I get excited now when I hear he's gonna be in a movie (NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET SQUEAL!!!!!)  When he finally showed up, I was a little sad cause he was all beaten up, but he played his character very well, and despite only seeing him for maybe five minutes max in the movie, I felt for his character. The movie made me really want to read the book. I might pick it up next time I'm in a bookstore. Over all, I give it 4 stars.

How to Train your Dragon.
This...is quite possibly the best movie I've seen all year. I would recommend this movie to EVERYONE. I saw it in 3-D, and I think that's the way to go. There are a few low angle shots that make the 3-D particularly effective and beautiful. I had my doubts about this movie. Was it going to be another dumb kiddie movie? But no. It wasn't full of the slapstick lowbrow humor you see in some other cg films as of late. It was actually a very personal experience for me, because i could relate extremely, extremely well with Hiccup, the main character. This sucked me straight into the plot and I didn't look back. I didn't feel time, I never felt the need to check my cell phone, and I was a little disappointed when it was over. The entire plot line was great, then ending was wonderful and completely satisfying, the rendering of the whole movie was seamless and beautiful, the characters meshing well with their surroundings. The level of detail gone into this film amazed me almost as much as Avatar did. The vikings themselves all have very fine hairs covering their arms, which you can see quite clearly in a few shots. This small detail was most amazing to me, and I can only wonder at how much loving time was spent on it. It looked completely realistic and yet meshed seamlessly with the rest of the rendering of the characters. Gerard Butler was of course, himself as Hiccup's dad, and I always enjoy me some Gerard Butler. Overall this is a movie that ranks up there with Watchmen, and I could watch it over and over again and never get bored. Toothless is the most adorable thing on the planet, and the take on the whole dragon thing in general is pretty unique and interesting. I definitely give this movie a full whopping swollen FIVE our of five stars baby. I'll be nabbing this for myself as soon as it comes out on DVD.

Well that's all the jabbering I'll do at ya. NOW it's time for commissions!

Rorshach is love

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 23, 2010, 7:29 PM

Currently I and :iconlilmadhatterlu: are severely obsessed with watchmen. We both have the graphic novel, the super duper special edition dvd boxset with special directors cut, and assorted other watchmen knicknacks, on my part including but not limited to a watchmen mug, a rorschach keychain, a rorschach action figure, limited edition, and  a watchmen hoodie. . ..Maybe it's a little worse than obsessed. Lu and I, on monday also got matching tattoos of Rorschach's .'||'. signature. GOD he's so effing cute! Him and Night Owl..yep I am definitely a shipper. Cute lil chubby owl *pinches cheeks* eee..  anyHOOT!  If you havent seen the movie go see it, if you havent' read the graphic novel go read it.

Meanwhile, if I havent uploaded in forever its cause Im terribly busy with school work and I just got done with having :iconlilmadhatterlu: over for a two week stay, and that pretty much took up all of my free time. But it was a blast yay! I'll get more stuff up soon hopefully. Probably school work e.e  In any event. Here now is the usual:

Beignets!

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 29, 2010, 5:30 PM

OH MY GOD BEIGNETS larrybettencourt.files.wordpre… ARE THE BEST THINGS EVER! I just made a whole batch after going to see the Princess and the Frog. If you've seen it, then you know what I mean and DAMN they looked good! So I went and made myself some. They taste like really effing good funnel cakes. I mean really..fried dough and powdered sugar? Can you really go wrong? As for the movie, I personally loved it. I'm a huge HUGE fan of traditional 2-D disney animation and I'm very happy they went back to it for this movie. I always wanted to be a disney animator and it made me so sad when they switched to cg shit. maybe this is a sign they'll revert back to the old style. The only complaint I have for this movie is the music sucked. Normally you have at least one song in a disney classic movie you can connect to, but this movie..eh it was all sort of mellow background jazz style music. I mean I get that it's in New Orleans and all but..I think the music still could've been better. Best thing I can compare it to is watching the Corpse Bride after the Nightmare Before Christmas. The music just isn't up to snuff.

SPEAKING of movies... I'll make this a movie journal BWAHAHAH.

So I uh, saw Avatar, well I've seen it twice now and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. Being a big movie and animation buff I really appreciated how much skill it took to make those creatures have such lifelike features- such emotional nuances, everything from the way they walk to the slightest twitches of the eye and face muscles. It's fantastic, James Cameron I tip my hat to you, oh god of Special Effects. I saw it in 3-D both times, definately awesome. I'm glad they didn't.. take too much advantage of it. I dunno about you but I HATE when 3-D movies sit there and pull stupid cheesy tricks just because they're in 3-d, like reaching out over your head or throwing something at you to get a rise out of the audience. I hate that. Cause then when you take the movie home you're like.. dude..why are they reaching out for like ten seconds. IT'S CHEESY. Hats off to Avatar for using the 3-D to enhance the film, and not make it a cheeseball. ALSO the second time I saw AVATAR it was in IMAX, but IMAX GOERS BEWARE. Not all IMAX theaters are created equal. Something may have Imax technology and sound and stuff advertised, but the screen itself may be only slightly larger than your average upscale movie theater screen. I was pissed about that. I plan to go see it at the REAL Imax theater at the mall of georgia sometime soon before it's gone. I WANT THE EYEBALLS TO BE AS BIG AS ME DAMNIT!

Another good movie I saw recently was Sherlock Holmes. So the action was great, the acting was brilliant and the plot was intriguing. I am personally a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so I was excited about this movie. If you're wondering if you should go see it, THEN GO SEE IT! Oh and for all my yaoi fan watchers out there..trust.. you wont be disappointed, because I swear to god Sherlock and Watson.. are.. so.. effing... GAY TOGETHER IN THIS MOVIE! AHAHAH no really it's great, they make these little comments, and the body language..oh god it's so effing cute and so effing slashable. I totally have this burning desire to draw watson and sherlock yaoi fanart now. Really it's such a great movie. The only qualm I have with it is that Rachel McAdams isn't really all that convincing as a jersey girl from the late 1800s. I'm pretty sure that girls from new jersey at that time had MAD heavy accents. Rachel just didn't drop into the century, sorry girl. Stick to current films! Other than that though FABULOUS film. Her poor performance just made me want to see Holmes with Watson that much more xD.

Okay one last movie rant and I'll give your ears a rest. Alice in Wonderland. What. The. Fuck. Seriously Tim Burton? Seriously? What did you do!? I am a huge alice in wonderland fan and as such, I will see this movie simply so that I may judge it fairly. But it looks.. retarded. They made Johnny Depp look like Bozo the clown. From Tim Burton.. I really would have thought he would make the Mad Hatter more dark and disturbing..*sigh* Well as I say, I'll reserve total judgement til I see it, but until then. What they did to Helena also freaks me out... Her head is huge. My other reason for not being excited about the movie is because from what I understand, Beddor is trying to work on a movie for his book series the Looking Glass Wars which is AWESOME, and this may have pushed him back. Which makes me sad. Anyway we'll see what happens, but for now I'm harumphing about it.

Okay I lied one more. Lovely Bones. If you've read the book as I have, wtf Peter Jackson? Okay so this book is about %5 interesting, and %95 boring psychobabbly examining the lives of this girls family after she died. It bores me to tears. There is no action, most of the book is daily life activities with the girl watching from heaven. So how..how..HOW Peter Jackson are you going to make this an interesting movie? Are you just..gonna make her heaven really pretty and hope it flies? Are you going to add action to the plot where there is none? Ahh I don't know. I will see it because I'm just so damn curious as to how he's gonna make this movie intersting!

Okay that's all I have for now. ALSO: If you love me keep reading for the normal commission information!

Comission info

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 7, 2009, 5:53 PM
So every time I post some angsty or ranting or boo hoo my life sucks journal I always end up regretting it and feeling ashamed and guilty over it later. So I'm putting up a new journal to bump the other one down. I'll do something standard here and just give out some information about myself.

I do take commissions, but they're on a case by case basis, so note me and we'll talk price based on what you're after. I also accept only paypal payments in advance. With traditional media you have the option to have the original drawing sent to you.

Take a peek at my gallery to see my style. I can do watercolors, marker colors, digital coloring, or just sketches and things like that. I can also do clay commissions if you're interested in cosplay accessories or charms or anything like that.

Commission Examples:
Cosplay Accessory: Star Yell by Scrat-Riker
Headshot: Graye Spec Sheet by Scrat-Riker
Full body line art: Shaman Sunai by Scrat-Riker
Cell shaded color: Ever the Conservationist by Scrat-Riker
Soft shaded with complex background: The Full Moon by Scrat-Riker
Marker colored: Black Mage by Scrat-Riker
Watercolored: Narration Sequence 5 by Scrat-Riker

I'm in the Atlanta area in Georgia, and I do attend Anime Weekend in Atlanta every year, so if you'd like to see me in the artists alley let me know, I'd LOVE feedback and whatnot. I do plan on being there next year with a few tidbits. Also let me know if you'd like to see me at Momocon. I've been meaning to check that convention out.

Any other questions feel free to send me a note, and as always thanks for watching, and enjoy the show.

Yeah fucking right.

Warning: This journal is going to make me sound like a spoiled brat, but I really just need to vent my feelings. So I ask you to try to be understanding, and if not just ignore this journal.

So today is my birthday... and I am utterly depressed and upset. I don't really have any reason to be I guess but I am. It doesn't really feel very fair to me. I'm sitting her at 1 in the afternoon on my birthday, utterly and completely alone, with no plans for the rest of the day except to stay at home and finish my homework for tomorrow, a full acrylic painting I haven't even started on.. plus see if I can get the three week late webcomic out at some point..and I had to clean up the kitchen because SOMEONE didn't clean it up before they left, she never fucking cleans anyway besides the dishes. I've never seen her lift a finger to sweep or mop or fucking wipe the counters or the stove clean.. *rubs forehead* And there were crumbs all over the floor and ANTS. I can't have any insects in my kitchen so I as soon as I got home swept and mopped good. Ants.. ants I ask you. NO that's NOT okay! Fucking pick up a broom.. god.. *rubs forehead* I dunno maybe I'm PMSing..which would make sense for this time of the month if I hadn't skipped my period for three months in a row.. be nice if I got it this month so I know I'm not fucked up somehow.. whatever.. so I have all that to do.. and straight to school again tomorrow with no break..

Oh.. and I think I'm starting to get sick again so I feel like crap..

Now.. I had a very nice fun weekend. I really did. I went to a baseball game on saturday.. I went to six flags yesterday with my sister and her husband and johnner.. and I went to a nice breakfast place this morning with my parents, and they gave me a nice present. And I am so incredibly grateful for all of that. I really am. And I know I'm really lucky to have had so much fun..

But can anyone not.. understand why I'm on the verge of tears right now because on my birthday..the actual day.. all I have to do is clean and do homework all by myself? I just want to curl up in bed and cry.. probably just being stupid.. whatever.. I'm taking a fucking nap.

OKAY since I don't have a paid account I can't do polls.. so we'll do this the cheap way. I want all of you to vote on what you'd rather see me do for the Anime Weekend in Atlanta convention next year. I plan on having an artist's table and selling prints and things. Tell me which of the following you'd like to see me draw or create to sell at the booth. You can pick one or all of them if you wish! Thanks so much for the feedback.

Prints:
1) Final Fantasy Characters
2) Death Note Characters
3) FMA characters
4) Silent Hill Characters
5) Sailor Moon Characters
6) Suggest a different anime/video game/fandom

Of these, would you rather see digitally colored prints or watercolors?

Other items:
1) Dolfie clothes
2) Charms for jewelry such as earrings and necklaces (what kind? Chibis? Yummy food? Bunnies?)
3) Bookmarks
4) Pins/Buttons
5) Table sketch commissions

If you have ANY other ideas just let me know! Thanks I really appreciate it ^_^

Hey there, it's me. Sorry if I haven't updated or replied to comments in awhile, I've been at Anime Weekend in Atlanta as well as hangin with :iconlilmadhatterlu: and :iconwillowwynd: It was a very bittersweet trip. AWA was alot of fun, my costumes were pretty successful, I won some prizes and I got my very first dolfie @.@ I'm addicted now I think. But some personal stuff happened, which I will keep personal, but suffice it to say that things will be rough for a little while. Hopefully everything will work out in the end, however. I'll get back on track soon, and I'll have some new photos of my cosplay and other fun things. Stay tuned.

I thought it was time for an update. I..dunno in case anyone cares what's going on in my life lol. These past two weeks have been chaotic man. On Thursday (June 18th) I tried out for American Idol when they came into Atlanta. I spent.. 14 hours at the Georgia Dome..god it was so long and so tiring. I didn't make it through but I'm glad I went. Maybe I'll be on TV in one of the crowd shots xD. I have..terrible terrible stage fright but I love to sing, so I'm actually really proud of myself for actually getting up and going for it. I was shaking like a leaf of course which is what..I'm sure did me in but.. again I did contemplate running like hell while I was standing in line, and I didn't..I stayed and tried out..and for that I'm proud of myself. Maybe next year right?

Ahh other than that you know..just working at the bakery, making cake and trying not to eat it all up x.x  You have no idea how hard it is man. So easy it's SO easy to just..pop it in your mouth and I'm trying hard to be better about it. Sometimes obviously you just gotta... taste something to make sure it's okay but I dunno. I've been on Jenny Craig since the middle of January of this year and I've lost 49 pounds so far x.x It's getting down to the wire, I'm almost to my goal and I'm finding it harder than ever. It's harder to lose the weight.. I have to exercise longer and wear a stupid weight vest that doesnt make me feel in any way shape or form sexy.. and I have to watch everything I eat..there's no cheating at this point..and it's slow going.. I know I can make it through to the end it's just.. I miss burgers x.x I miss all that junk food. It's been sooo long. It's almost torture passing by some place and smelling that shit. But again..I can do it.. but the first place I'm going after my diet is over is steak and shake damnit!

Ahh aside from all that bs i have AWA coming up in September! I'm so excited about it, but I need to get crackin on my costumes! I have to finish.. ah..three! Lol yeah I know I take on alot. All of my costumes are in some stage of completion. I'm doing Seiya Kou's school boy uniform for the ball, Sailor Star Fighter for the general convention, and I'm also making Princess Serenity's dress for :iconlilmadhatterlu: to wear at the ball as well. I'm almost done with hers. If you wanna see more of what I've done on them you can check out my Cosplay . com profile, found here! :  www.cosplay.com/member/139415/
All those characters are of course from Sailor Moon. And Star Fighter's outfit is another reason I'm losing weight x.x Hopefully I'll be good by september though lol. I hope to see any of you there if you'll be going. Send me a note and let me know!! AWA is Anime Weekend in Atlanta, held at the Cobb Galleria Center in September, and it'll be a BLAST!!

Thanks for reading, I am..way too lazy to link to the normal shit lol. Love you guys!

Hey guys! Well I just got done with a busy fun wonderful money draining two weeks with :icondressari: and :iconlilmadhatterlu: They both visited me and it was much funness. Now back to business I suppose. School's out so I'll have some more free time on my hands.

Maybe I'll start doing commissions if my money situation doesn't improve.. *ponders* FEEDBACK PLEASE! If anyone would be interested in a commission from me let me know so I'd know if it'd be worth typing up a fancy journal to advertise. Thanks guys!

In other news, Amber got my kiriban so she'll be getting a picture from me. She wants her character Inan sitting at a poker table. Will do Amber and congrats. *thumbs up*

So other than that.. make sure and visit these places!

You are a Badass Uke!

Other uke admire you, some seme fear you. Despite your sometimes flaming appearance, you can even fool other people into thinking you are seme with your mischievous, manipulative attitude, but when push comes to shove, your true submissive nature emerges. It takes a seme with enough intensity to challenge you and keep you satisfied, and your perfect match, the Don't Fuck With Me Seme, knows that all that naughty teasing just means you want the punishment.

Dear Lu:

I don't really know how to tell you this, but I'll join the monastery. I think I realized it When I quoted Santa under the bus and I saw you sit on my John F. Kennedy-statue. I'm sure you're senile enough to understand that I'm allergic to your hamster. I'm returning your ring to you, but I'll keep your left ear as a memory. You should also know that I never openly mocked a passionate interest for mice .

Go burn,
